The Electric Scooter Defence Fund – Whats Next?
If you have been following the news in connection with users efforts to get private e-scooter use legalised you may have heard of the E-scooter Defence Fund launched on crowdfunding site crowdjustice.com – https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/e-scooter–crack-down/
This was set up to try to help an e-scooter rider who was stopped on her way to work and issued with a notice of intended prosecution. Sadly the courts upheld the protection but crucial awarded the minimum fine against Kayla, who was riding sensibly and safely, wearing suitable protective clothing and a helmet.
The organisers of the ESDF have decided to try to take this further and are intending to produce an impact report which will illustrate the benefits micro-mobility can bring to ordinary people. If you are/were a micomobility user and you have a story to offer on how the use of your e-scooter, EUC or e-skateboard has benefited you or how you have been affected by the recent police crackdown please get in touch with ESDF – mark@personalelectrictransoprt.co.uk
